Rules

  • Swimmers will be present 5 minutes prior to their scheduled hour.

  • The start can be made from the starting block or directly from the water;

  • Any swimming style is permitted. Participants may use more than one style within the 30 minutes.

  • Swimmers must stay on their teams designated side of the lane to avoid collisions with swimmers in the shared lane or in neighbouring lanes.

  • The relay switch will be announced by a long whistle, 30 seconds prior to the scheduled time. After the whistle, the actual switch is made when the respective team’s swimmer reaches the edge of the pool where the teammate awaits.

  • In case a swimmer is late for the start, he or she will be allowed to swim only the time remaining from the allocated 30 minutes, but without any other penalties.

  • The lane judges will keep track of the number of laps swam, and, for appeals, video backup will be available.

  • The conduct of the swimmers will at all times be respectful towards judges, other attendees, the public, the organisers and all volunteers.

  • The consumption of alcoholic beverages during the event is prohibited.

  • Not complying with the rules mentioned above may result in penalties (up to exclusion from the event), as decided by the event’s organizers.

Penalties

  • For early start: the penalty is 10 pool laps.

  • Wrong turn (the wall is not touched with any part of the body): the penalty is 10 pool laps.

  • Not keeping the scheduled order of the swimmers: the penalty is 10 pool laps.

  • Disturbing the judges by any means: the penalty is 10 pool laps.

Penalties will be applied at the end of the competition by subtracting penalty laps from the total number of pool laps the team has swam.

Registration

  • A maximum of 10 teams can participate, and priority is determined by the time the team registered.

  • If there are swimmers without a team, they can still subscribe; based on the number of unattached swimmers, the organizers can build one or more teams, applying the same priority as for team subscription.

  • The formally registered teams will have priority over the ad-hoc teams.

  • The registrations will be made on-line, from 04.03.2013 until 16.03.2013 at http://www.timisoara.inot-masters.ro

  • The already registered teams, its members, and the lane assignments will be announced on-line until 20.03.2013.
