“Journalists’ Cup”

Masters swimming competition

First edition

General Information

Venue: the competition will be held at the indoor swimming pool in BEGA Sport Center (25 m / 6 lanes, water temperature 29*), situated in Timisoara, Intrarea Zinelor, Zona Circumvalatiunii (also, see the attached map). 

Age groups:

• age groups for individual events are: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, etc.
• age groups for relays are: 72-99, 100-119, 120-159, 160-199, 200-239, 240-279, 280-319, 320-359, etc.

The sum of the ages of the team members (determined by the year of birth) determines the age group of the team. 

Rules:

• competition is open to any journalist;
• program includes both swimming events, and fun events;
• the current masters swimming rules, as of the date of the meet, and warm up procedures will be followed;
• the heats and distribution on lanes are based on the declared registration times;
• all events will be run slowest to fastest;
• one start rule applies;
• all events will be timed finals.

 

Warning: the risk of accidents

Participants are fully responsible concerning the risks of the swimming practice and participation in the competition. 

Results

• Lists with the results of each event will be posted, during the contest, on two billboards.
• Results will, also, later on, be posted at www.timisoara.inot-masters.ro

 

Awards :

• diplomas shall be awarded to individual competitors placed first to third in each event and age group,
• a certificat of participation shall be awarded to any competitor

 

Program:

The contest starts at 12:30 hrs. Warming up at 12:00 hrs.

W – women, M - men  

 

Note: the events will take place depending on the existing registrations 

Registration

• Competition is open only to journalists.
• There are no qualifying times necessary to enter the meet.
• Online registration at www.timisoara.inot-masters.ro or, via e-mail at contact@timisoara.inot-masters.ro.
• Registration also possible on the spot till 12:00 hrs.
• Swimmers must register in person at the secretariat, before they can swim.  The registration desk is in the entry hall (right side).
• Participants’ seeding on lanes for each event will be posted, during the contest, on two billboards.

 

Amenities

• Free guarded parking available.

 

Accommodation

Organizers can accommodate participants in different locations with different types of comfort:

• boarding school: 6-8 bed room  with shared shower / toilet  – 7 euro per person
• boarding school: triple room  with own shower / toilet – 10 euro per person,
• hostel or hotel. More details by request.
